Quoted from: Guess Who, July 25th, 2013 12:10  GMT
who are the top teams in NorCal playing in Surf Cup.

There are only two Cal North teams in this age group (girls born after July 31, 1999) at Surf Cup:

Santa Rosa United Tremors and Mountain View/Los Altos Monsoon ECNL.

Both are pretty strong teams, but MVLA is the result of a fall merger. The team is very strong, but hasn't played together quite enough to really have it together. Surf will be their big first tournament as a team, and although they might finish gelling by then and go pretty far, I think the inexperience makes them the weaker of the two teams.

SRU is an outstanding team, won Norcal State Cup last year and have been playing up a year in league for a while now. They also played Surf Cup last year. Didn't advance out of pool play, but were also undefeated (1W, 2D)--that's a heart-breaking result. Still I think the experience and  grittiness makes them the CalNorth team most likely to advance.

Should be some good games.

This forum (Girls 00-01) actually maps to U13. So CAN actually has 3 teams at Surf: Mustang, FCA Storm, and San Juan Spirits 01.

Any predictions on how the CAN teams will fare against SoCal competition?

Storm is on a roll this year, San Juan took Cal Cup (Storm made it to semis) and Mustang made it to finals at Winter Turf and Davis.
