Any 2nd, 3rd, etc  team of the same age group is a "Silver" program team.  The Silver program is its own program, with its own Subgroup leader and coaching staff.

While on paper this may seem like a lot of teams for 1-3 trainers, the club is pretty good at sharing game coaching duties with their other coaches when needed.    Mellissa Cavitt is taking the season off.

This year, with almost 50 girls trying out for U11, they formed two "gold" teams and one silver team.

Where did all those girls come from?  I saw that SJ, Ethos, and ARFC posted supplemental tryouts for U11.

Well, they had two or three of their own silver teams already (and a few of those girls moved up to gold teams), plus girls from Cap F. C., Capital Valley United, Fair Oaks Select, ARFC, and Arden Park Rec.

How's everyone doing with the flu?  We still have some straggling coughers, but nothing like the full blown flu that hit us the a couple of weeks ago.

Good luck to your daughter and her team!  Funnily enough, our U11 Silver B team has not yet been to Turlock.  They played their 2nd round games early, and their quarterfinal game was gainst our Gold team so they played at home.  Tomorrow their semifinal game is against our Silver A team, so they are playing at home.  They will finally make it to Turlock for the finals on Sunday.

Good luck to everyone.

Make sure they know how to get to the fields!  The NorCal premier website address is inaccurate.

Wow, did our girls get schooled.  That Legends team was phenomenol yesterday.  So fast, so fun to watch, so depressing to be on the other side!

It was incredibly refreshing to be beaten by better soccer--- not by getting taken down from behind, bullied, knocked to the ground etc.  Solid refs too.  Didn't really need them because we finally saw a really clean team.  Aggressive, determined, fast and clean.

That was the fastest speed of play we've seen all year, and we've played the Stars on several occasions.  It really is too bad they aren't in the final with Ajax for the State 1 championship.

Like our girls U9 coach used to say....they definitely learned what they need to work on!  It think they'll bounce back well today.    Good luck to all the finalists.

Yes, congrats to all of the teams!  futballinator, I know the Legends were disappointed and frustrated with their 2nd round loss, and that really showed in their next three games.  It is a shame they did not end up in the Top 8--especially after their recent win against Ajax--but anything can happen on any given day when you put a bunch of 10 and 11 year olds on the field.  The Legends are a great group of girls, and as disappointed as they were, they were genuinely excited for the other two U11 Mustang teams, the Blast and the Xplosion, who ended up in the State 2 (9-16 group) with them.
