Good luck CAL north! Let't see if we can get some favorable bracketing.

Cal North has a great chance in the U11G group. Our top two teams, USA Stars and Ajax should do very well. I predict the Stars will bring home the title...

U11 goes to 11 a side for Surf cup, right? Well, both USA stars and Ajax have been playing 11 a side for a while which should help. Ajax has the most effective striker in Norcal U11, but is a weaker overall team. Not sure even the Ajax star can dominate a full size field by herself. USA stars is the better team with a brilliant center mid, but is not the same team as last year. Good luck to both.

Finally able to look at the actual accepted teams list for the U11 girls after being remote to modern internet. I can't believe the Mustang Legends are in and the Santa Rosa Earthquakes are out. That's depressing.
I guess I'm with you, Socop, I think the Stars could possibly take it all with a little luck. I am still a little worried their depth isn't great after seeing how their 2nd 8v8 team did in the Davis Spring Tournament. Maybe they can pick up a couple of strong players as guests from the snubbed Santa Rosa side

Just a little piece of advice. I personally don't see the point of 9 and 10 year old kids to be traveling to San Diego for a tournament, but since you are already going make sure you turn it into a mini vacation. Your kids will remember and appreciate more the things they do there while they are not playing games. Whatever you do don't put too much pressure for them to perform well at Surf. They might be going against some teams that will be at a different level not necessarily technically, but physically and that will make a huge difference. Sometimes the 0 and 3 trips to San Diego are the best ones because you have more time to enjoy the beaches.

I agree with B99, there is plenty of great competition locally for 98% of the teams. A team with a NorCal ranking over 5 shouldn't spend the coin to travel down to So. Cal just to get hammered. It's a different story if your team has the potential to hang in there or even win. Clearly, those kids have worked hard enough to deserve the challenge.

I actually think it's a good thing for teams even ranked lower than 5 to go down south once in a while, and see what soccer is really about. I just don't think u11 which are 9 or 10 years old at the most will benefit from it, maybe they will. Having said that I will be rooting for you guys as well as other NorCal teams and I will continue to purchase the Fundraising coupons that your club is selling even though they have hit my house 3 times already. And now that I think about it I think it has been the same little girl getting my money every time.
