Well, the scheduling is difficult I still think that Y League is the best league my kid has played in. I guess my point was that this is always an issue in every league.
The competition in Y League is pretty consistent and generally the rules associated with Y League insure consistency in fields, refs and the level of play. I know that some people find Y League hard---travel 2 hours for one game--but I would much rather play Y League and skip D6.....

The aspects of Y League which are good:
1) National League
2) Only the top clubs need apply
3) Home club plays visiting club all the way through the age groups at one field.
4) For the most part the fields are of better quality
5) Competition is better since many teams combine with other teams.
The aspects of Y League that are not good:
1) Y League is set up for clubs not teams. Some top teams are excluded because they don't belong to a top club.
2) Some teams especially younger age groups are not as strong because of #1 above.
3) Some pretty long travel days for 1 game.

I think you got it pretty much covered! I think the refs are consistently better. Not to say that they are all great, but overall much better than any other league. I know that they are often the same as other leagues, but Y League seems to be a little more particular about who they assign to which games.
I think the sub rules are also good. Once you are out, you are out for the half. This keeps the game moving. I also like the sub on any dead ball rule...more like the pros and college. A good thing.
I agree that overall the fields are better and there is an attempt at a more professional approach to the game.
